Wendy Vaughan
Wendy Vaughan has been writing and performing poetry since 1988 when she first performed at the first Pincher Creek Cowboy Poetry Gathering.

Since then she has entertained with her poetry at various banquets, rodeos, fundraisers and gatherings around Western Canada and in Montana.

Raised west of Cochrane in the Ghost River area, she experienced ranch life first hand. Many of her ranch experiences are related in poetic form in her first book entitled, “The Corral Bars Are Down”. Published in 2003 this book is fully illustrated by Gina McDougall-Cohoe, who is most renowned for her bronze sculptures.

Wendy currently resides with her husband, Walter, on the family farm North of Cochrane, where they still raise hay, but in 2006 dispersed their cattle operation. She has two married daughters and in 2007 became a grandmother for the first time.
