Roy Krouse was born on a farm near Jarvis, Ontario. At age five, his love of country music was encouraged when his father purchased a guitar at an auction for $5.00 - a princely sum in those days. Ironically, a few years later, he won first prize of $5.00 in a talent show. As a teenager in Jarvis, Roy called square dances while playing the guitar and harmonica.
Roy became an atomic physicist but never abandoned his passion for country music. In Calgary, he has performed at senior's residences, charity functions, and other venues including Calgary Stampede breakfasts. Roy is a member of the Prairie Mountain Fiddlers and Men's Folk Singing. He has entertained small audiences throughout the world in Brazil, Russia, Germany, Australia, Japan and China.
Gary Giesbrecht, the President of the Prairie Mountain Fiddlers will be joining Roy on our stage.
