Murray has always had an intense urgency to paint, as if something important needs to be said and he can only say it with brush and canvas.
He has been painting for over 35 years but much of his life has been lived in the halls of academia where he holds graduate degrees in Cultural Anthropology and Theology. For over 20 years he has taught at a variety of colleges and universities and he is in demand both as a teacher and a public speaker.
As an artist and a teacher, he is amply qualified to teach about the art of buying and appreciating art on Saturday, July 5 th at 2:30 pm and Wednesday, July 9 th at 1:30 pm.
Murray has also graciously agreed to emcee our popular Paint with an Artist event on Wednesday, July 9 th, 2008. In order to give our young artists enough time to complete their pictures, they will begin at 1:30 pm. While they are working away under the direction of their personal artist "teachers", Murray will give his Art Appreciation presentation. Plan to join the fun of this two-hour event as Murray and his fellow Artists of the Western Art Show share their tips and techniques with our young volunteers.
