Window On The West Performers

Festival of the West

Terri Mason
Terri MasonSince her inaugural debut at Pincher Creek in 1992, Terri has been featured at every major gathering across the West. Terri was the first Canadian woman featured at the legendary cowboy gathering in Elko, Nevada and the first Canadian featured at Gene Autry’s Melody Ranch in Santa Clarita, California. In 2006, Terri was one of the Albertans chosen to represent the province at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, D.C.

Terri Mason spent most of her youth working with horses as an outfitter and a horse logger. In 1999, she was the lone woman invited to take part in the Last Great Hitch of the Century—a 30-horse hitch of draft horses. She is a gracefully retired walking plow champion but still a member of Reding’s annual threshing crew. In 2005, Terri and one of her teams of draft horses helped build the Centennial Road at Reynolds Alberta Museum using all draft horse power. She also served as the announcer.
Terri now lives with her draft horses on a cattle ranch in central Alberta and is the editor of Canadian Cowboy Country magazine, the Yellowhead Highway Travel Guide and a segment producer and story consultant for the multiple award-winning television show, Cowboy Country.

Casey & Rick Peden

   Casey & Rick Peden
Casey & Rick Peden have been producing their own brand of music for many years now, so it comes as no surprise that the talented father/daughter team from Stoney Plain have released an album entitled “A Border Affair.” A selection off this release, “The Choice”, was nominated as song of the year at the Western Music Association.

Casey’s clear, concise soprano voice and instrumental talents are supported by Rick’s devotion to song-writing and a lifetime commitment to making music. This unique partnership leaves their audience breathless, and that magic is precisely what comes through in their performances.

Casey holds a Bachelor of Music degree, majoring in voice with a minor in piano. Casey has toured Europe with the Madigral Singers on two separate occasions. Casey was also invited to perform as a soloist in a joint concert between the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and the Madigral Singers.

Rick and Casey Peden demonstrate two generations of rural wisdom in their unique vocal and musical stylings.
