Bryan Smith, or Bj to some, is fast becoming a crowd favourite. With a twinkle in his eye and a knack for storytelling, Bj serves up one tasty poetic treat right after another. He can tickle your funny bone and put a lump in your throat all in the same story. His experiences as a horse trainer, packer, mountain guide and a retired Mountie feed his repertoire of countless humorous stories and poems. In 2005 his first book of poems, "Mountains, Mounties, and Memories." was published. You can now listen to his goofiness on his recently released CD, which won the Academy of Western Artists Will Rogers Award as the Best Cowboy Poetry CD of the Year last year. Three years ago Bryan won the Tall Tale contest in Stony Plain with his poem about Casey and the glass eye. This popular story is still requested everywhere he performs.
