John Gilchrist

John Gilchrist has reviewed restaurants for CBC Radio in Calgary since 1980 and is the author of seven National Best-Sellers on dining in Calgary, Banff and area. The 6th edition of his dining guide was #1 on Calgary's Best Seller list for 17 weeks after being launched in the fall of 2006.

His weekly column titled Off the Menu appears in the Sunday edition of the Calgary Herald and he contributes frequently to the Herald's Traveling Gourmet column. He is also a contributing editor on food for Avenue and Where Calgary and writes regularly for Swerve, Western Living, Wine Access, and Air Canada's enRoute magazine.
Gilchrist instructs a variety of Food and Culture programs for the University of Calgary and teaches cooking classes at various local cooking schools. He leads travel programs to culinary destinations such as Santa Fe, New York, Rome, and Paris.
