Born and raised in Calgary, Twyla Wehne’s love of horses and art became apparent at an early age. As well as her equine body of work, she is also widely recognized for her portraiture and has displayed many works across Canada, the US and Europe. Depicting horses in all facets of their use, from wild stampede broncos to the prestige of Spruce Meadows show-jumping horses, Twyla effectively uses Calgary’s diverse equine population to continually expand her reference material. Her work has been prominently displayed at venues in Canada and the US, as well as in numerous magazines.
