Dillon Huang has studied at the Canton Art College and the Alberta College of Art. After a career teaching art in China, he immigrated to Calgary in 1982. Dillon has found inspiration from the Rockies and western wildlife. Some of his art is composed on rice paper using a combination of western and Chinese painting techniques. In 1988 he was commissioned to design five Calgary Winter Olympics posters. In 1998, his painting entitled "Eagle of The Rockies" was selected to be published in the Encyclopaedia of World Famous Chinese Artists. In 1999, he won the Award of Excellence in the Forte Cup Twentieth Century Asian Art Competition—the award winning show is part of a display at George Washington University.
