Deanna Lemna :: Western Art Gallery Artist
Deanna Lemna was born in Calgary and began painting in oils in the early 60s. In 1976 she began to depict prairie subjects by combining the mediums of clay and paint. After a period of experimentation, she developed a process whereby she was able to produce wood-mounted sculptures of her subjects, including depictions of vintage buildings commonly found in the prairies in the middle of the last century. Among other exhibits, she had a year long, one-person exhibit that traveled throughout western Canada, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories.
